A Little About Me

My fathers family arrived in Fremantle, Western Australia
on board the ship "Quebec Trader" in 1834
They came out as farmers and found the going very tough out here
in their new country.
Our families names were "Gibbs" and "White", they
were some of the original
pioneers in the Cannington/Gosnells area in Western Australia.

My father was a farmer/goldminer he was always on the move.
After he and my mother were married, they moved to a small
mining town called "Wiluna" up North in WA.
My two brothers were born there.

In 1945 most of the mines closed down in Wiluna and so we
had to travel from one gold mining town to another trying
to find work, as it was difficult for the men to find work
in the mining industry at that time.

Eventually, we finally arrived at a town called "Norseman".
Norseman is the last major town before you cross the "Nullabor Plain"
(Desert) to get to the Eastern side of Australia by road.

My family stayed in Norseman until 1966, my father's health
was deteriorating due to all those years underground.
They returned to Perth, my father passed away in 1984.

I married when I was eighteen yrs of age and moved to Perth
to live, I never really liked the City, but had no choice
but to stay.

My first born daughter passed away as the result of an accident
on New Years Eve 1961, I was devastated but life goes on.

My second born son was was born with a disability.
But he is such a joy to have and enjoys life to the fullest,
he now lives in a "Group Home".
He has Social Trainers to teach him to become independant
and to teach all the necessary social skills.
He is very happy there.
Be sure to check out Bradley's Page on here.

After spending the many years as a Secretary
for Members of Parliament in their Electorate offices,
I finally retired and wondered what
I would do with myself with all this spare time,on my hands.
I now wonder how I found time to work...*S* !!

I love all kinds of music except Heavy Metal.
My favourite is Country music, so be sure to
check out my Country Music Page.

When I was a teenager I played the button
accordion for the local dances and charity
events, but sadly I lost my accordion
many years ago while travelling.

I have made some great friends on the net,
and my deepest thanks goes to Jeannie, Ian,
and Smokey for all their help and guidance.
(Thanks guys).
